Mark's 2 CB750's, crafted
from metal, blood, sweat and maybe even a few tears.
I own a metal fabrication shop in Phoenix. I have been a big fan
of the cafe racer style for a long time. I have built custom Harley's
in the past but the cafe racers that I have built, give me more
satisfaction.
The first is a 1974 CB 750 that I went with the more traditional
racer style. It turned out nice and it was fast as all hell. The
second one I decided to go with a more aggressive style. I wanted
people to know that this is a cafe racer, but question exactly what
the hell it is?
I wanted to be able to take it to a bike show and for it to hold
its own with the super expensive customs. This bike has more hours
in metal work than anything I have ever built in the past. I hand
made the rear section of the frame, the tank, the side panels and
the tail out of steel.
I used 2006 R6 shocks and handlebar controls on the bike and a CBR1000
taillight that is flush mounted under the tail. The motor that was
in the bike when I got it had 65000 miles on it and had some leaks
and the rings were bad, so I bought a brand new motor from a guy
on e-bay that was still in the crate from the factory with zero
miles on it.
So now the bike for the most part is brand new.
