Lucy a Honda CB550 Four
(Jake)

Picked this little lady up just over a year ago or rather rescued
her from that owner. With barely any oil in her she was pretty much
being driven into the ground. This being my first bike I learned
pretty quick how to do general maintenance through my brother, Jon,
who rides with the Seattle Cretins MC.

Continued to clean and fix her up. Bondo-ed a few minor dents in
the tank and proceeded to paint her black. Got some new tires, Metzeler
Lazertecs, and she was riding pretty good. Even with the high bars.
:)
Of course, this is the time when someone pulls out in front of me
performing a u-turn from a parking space. Long story short, I now
have a bent frame and my front end is shot.

Thanks again to the Seattle Cretins, my brother and Bob. They were
able to ship me a replacement frame and a new front end. And Ethan,
the only San Francisco Cretin, gave me some new clubman bars and
I was ready to put her back together. So my brother flew down from
Seattle and over a weekend we pulled everything off the old frame
and put it all back together on the new frame. We hauled the bike
in on a pick up truck but rode her out on her own two wheels. Sure,
she needed a tune up, but she's a runner! She was christened Lucy,
after my brother's rat terrier, because I basically had a vintage
rat bike at this point.

Since then, replaced / rebuilt the top end of the motor and other
small stuff here and there. I've gone through about 3 speedo's,
a set of bars, and a set of mirrors from people backing over my
bike here in the city. She's been knocked over plenty by the city
but she keeps getting back up and asking for more. I love this bike.
